Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from our counseling sessions?
In our counseling sessions, I’ll take time to listen closely and ask thoughtful questions. Together, we’ll explore your story to identify patterns, challenges, and areas that may need healing or growth. Once we uncover those key areas, we’ll work side-by-side to clarify what you need and create a practical plan for moving forward.
Counseling is a collaborative process—it’s not about me giving you quick fixes, but about helping you discover insights and tools that lead to real, lasting change. Each session is designed to give you support, perspective, and steps you can take between meetings.

How much does counseling cost?
My standard counseling fee is **\$145 per session**.
No-Risk First Session Guarantee: If you decide during our initial session that counseling with me is not the right fit, you will not be billed for that appointment—or for any future sessions.
While my fee is comparable to other licensed counselors in the Oxford, MS area, I also offer a limited number of sliding-scale appointments for individuals or families experiencing financial hardship. If you’d like to be considered for one of these reduced-fee slots, please let me know.
If I am unable to accommodate your needs, I’ll gladly provide referrals to trusted local counselors who may be able to work within your budget.

Do you accept insurance?
I do not bill insurance directly at this time. However, many of my clients are still able to use their benefits in one of two ways:
- Sliding Scale Options: To make counseling more affordable, I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee slots for individuals or families facing financial hardship.
- Superbill for Reimbursement: Upon request, I can provide you with a Superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company. Depending on your plan, you may qualify for out-of-network reimbursement.
If you’re unsure whether your insurance offers out-of-network benefits, I recommend contacting your provider to ask about coverage for counseling with a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Mississippi.

How long does counseling last?
The length of counseling varies from person to person. Some clients find that their concerns are more straightforward, change comes quickly, and they already have a strong support system in place. Others may need more time to process deeper issues and gradually build new patterns.
From the very beginning, we’ll stay in regular dialogue about your goals, progress, and any areas that still feel unfinished. This ongoing check-in helps us determine together how long counseling should last for you.
There’s no “one-size-fits-all” answer—counseling is tailored to your unique needs, and the duration depends on your situation, preferences, and goals for growth.

Is this Christian counseling?
I approach counseling as a person of faith who seeks to follow Jesus in my daily life. Many of my Christian clients have shared that my counseling style has helped them grow in their understanding of the Gospel, strengthen their walk with God, and find hope in the midst of personal struggles.
At the same time, counseling with me is not limited to Christians. I welcome people of all faiths—and those with no faith background—into a safe and respectful space. Regardless of your beliefs, you will receive empathy, dignity, and evidence-based counseling tools designed to help you create meaningful change in your life.

Do you see clients virtually (online counseling)?
Yes—I offer counseling sessions through a secure **telehealth portal**. Online counseling can be a convenient and effective way to receive support, especially if distance, health concerns, or a busy schedule make in-person sessions difficult.
Many clients have found that virtual sessions allow them to get the help they need without the barriers of travel or time. The process is simple, private, and designed to give you the same level of care you’d receive in my office.

Do you work with couples or families?
Yes—I have extensive experience working with couples and families. Whether you’re hoping to strengthen communication, work through conflict, or build healthier patterns together, I provide a safe and structured space to explore your relationships and grow stronger as a unit.
—
Is counseling confidential?
Yes. Privacy and confidentiality are my top concerns. I will always hold your personal information, session content, and records in strict confidence, in line with professional ethics and legal standards. Counseling is most effective when you feel safe to share openly, and I am committed to protecting that trust at every step.
